Sanding method

Ingredients

  • 115 g Butter, cold
  • 55 g Castor sugar
  • pinch of Salt
  • 130 g Plain flour
  • 40 g Ground rice

Instructions

  • Rub butter and flour together until it becomes like a sand-like texture.
  • Add the remaining ingredients except the ground rice.
  • Let it chill in the refrigerator.
  • Once chilled, roll it and drape it on top of the pie mold.
  • Use the ground rice as weight.
  • Half way through, take out the rice and continue to bake it for another 10-13 minutes in a 190c oven, or until golden brown.
