Two-ingredient Chocolate Cake

Image & Recipe credit: Buat Orang Lapo

Ingredients

  • 250 g Cooking Chocolate
  • 4 Egg yolks
  • 4 Egg whites

Instructions

  • To begin, you'll need 250 grammes of cooking chocolate. This can be any type of cooking chocolate that you desire, whether its milk chocolate or dark chocolate. Pick one that you believe would give your taste buds a heavenly experience. As we're only using two ingredients, the chocolate's flavour is important.
  • Boil down the chocolate by using the double boil method or a microwave. Once it has melted, set it aside to cool.
  • With 4 eggs, separate the whites and the yolks. Make sure that your egg whites are pure and clean from any impurities as it will affect the egg whites from expanding. Your cake will not be fluffy if the egg whites dont expand!
  • With the egg whites, beat it slowly with a mixer and gradually increase the speed setting until they turn thick and fluffy.
  • Bring back the melted chocolate and insert your egg yolks one by one. Stir every time you pour an egg yolk into the bowl with a whisk until its mixed well.
  • Add the egg whites mixture earlier but pour at least ? first into the bowl before stirring it slowly to maintain the air in the egg whites. Dont stir too hard or too quickly, or else your cake will be compressed. Then, add another ? of the egg whites and stir until all of the egg whites have been added.
  • Make sure your oven is preheated for 10-15 minutes.
  • Coat your baking pan with butter before covering the bottom of the pan with baking paper.
  • Bake the chocolate cake for 30 minutes at a temperature of 160 degrees Celsius.
  • Let it cool for one hour before serving.

Notes

You can add any toppings that you like on top of your cake such as icing sugar. Dont worry too much about how your cake looks, remember that we are only using two ingredients and if this is your start to baking, youve done it!
