According to the company’s statement on Monday, a flydubai flight travelling from Kathmandu to Dubai encountered a bird strike during takeoff and safely arrived in the United Arab Emirates.

A spokesperson for the UAE-based company stated that their experienced flight crew adhered to standard operating procedures and proceeded with the flight as planned after ensuring that the engine was functioning normally despite the bird strike incident.
According to Jagannath Niroula, the spokesperson for Nepal’s Civil Aviation Authority, a fire broke out in one of the engines of flydubai flight 576 shortly after it took off from Kathmandu.

The fire was under control, and the Boeing 737-800 aircraft, carrying 167 passengers, landed safely in Dubai. Flydubai confirmed that the plane landed without incident and would undergo further inspection.
