BTS created history again at MAMA Awards 2022 by winning the first-ever ‘MAMA Platinum’ award.
BTS received a new achievement by becoming the first artist to ever win the special ‘MAMA Platinum’ award. It is a brand new award given to any artists who have won four Daesangs at once at MAMA Awards.
The phenomenal global group won all four MAMA’s Daesangs, a grand award for ‘Artist of the Year’, ‘Album of the Year,’ ‘Song of the Year,’ and ‘Worldwide Icon of the Year’ for three years straight, from 2019 until 2021.
j-hope was the only member who attended this year’s MAMA and had received ‘Artists of the Year’, ‘Album of the Year’, and ‘Worldwide Icon’ on behalf of the group.
BTS won three out of the four MAMA’s Daesangs, including ‘Artists of the Year’, ‘Album of the Year’, and ‘Worldwide Icon’ in 2018 and 2022. The group’s triumph at MAMA Awards over the past eight years has impressed fellow K-pop groups and fans.
BTS claimed their first MAMA’s Daesang for ‘Artist of the Year’ in 2016 and has continuously won the award even this year. Referring to the photo above, we can see that BTS conquered most of the Daesangs from 2016 until 2022. BTS has also won 20 of all 26 Daesang awards at MAMA since 2016.
Aside from BTS’ achievements, j-hope also received two awards for ‘The Most Popular Male Artist’ and ‘bibigo CULTURE & STYLE’.
