Popular Malaysian entrepreneur and celebrity Dato’ Seri Vida, better known as DSV, recently caught the attention of Malaysians with a video of him interacting with customers in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah.
In a TikTok video featuring DSV, who launched a stall offering Salmon Salted Eggs and other culinary delights at the Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC), Malaysian viewers were amazed when he conversed fluently in Mandarin with a local Chinese family who are big fans.
At the beginning of the video, DSV asks the family where they are from. The mother shares that they are from Sarawak but have been living in Sabah for a long time.
The mother then revealed that the family had always wanted to buy DSV Salmon Salted Eggs and other food products online but had no success.
Since DSV opened a stall near their home, they decided to visit SICC to buy products and meet DSV in person.
DSV then asked how the family knew about his stall, and the mother replied that they always watched DSV’s live streams on TikTok.
The family then happily bought some food products from DSV for RM 565.
Malaysians praise DSV’s communication skills and humility.
In the comment section, many Malaysians expressed their admiration for DSV’s Mandarin speaking skills, noting that he had never displayed this ability before.
Some commentators were surprised when DSV suddenly spoke Mandarin and praised him for his confidence in using the language.
