You must be familiar with Bakso, but do you know what Cilok is? It is an Indonesian ball-shaped dumpling made from tapioca starch.
Bakso Galipat is located in Padang Jawa, and the stall is run by a local named Jefri. He is a Malaysian, but his parents are from Indonesia and came to Malaysia to open a business. Jefri eventually took over the business.
He chose to sell cilok because of how hard it is to find this Indonesian snack in Malaysia, making it a unique selling point that attracts customers. Plus, many Indonesians also can be found living in Malaysia, and both of these countries have similar tastes when it comes to food.

His father’s restaurant started way back when he was still in school but to grow the business, he started selling bakso and cilok on his motorcycle in front of his father’s restaurant.
After seeing improvements, he proceeded to open his own little stall to cater to more customers.
Although Jefri uses meatballs from a supplier, he hopes to make his own meatball in the future. He also has plans to buy a machine specialising in making meatballs.
However, he makes his own chicken balls, so it is hard for you to get the same taste and texture of the chicken balls elsewhere.
This bakso and cilok stall usually opens until 10 pm, but the goods will usually be finished around 8 to 9 pm. That is why it is recommended that you pay a visit early to get a taste of the delicious, hearty bakso and cilok.
