1. Visit the MyOnline Passport Portal

MyOnline Passport is a convenient method for Malaysian citizens to apply to renew their Malaysian passport online. Online applications can be paid directly using credit or debit cards (FPX).

2. Complete Applicant Information

Applicants must provide all necessary information within the online application system.

  • Indicate the applicant’s age—whether they are 18 and above or below.
  • Provide details of the current passport, including the passport number and type.
  • Specify the IC (Identification Card) number and its category.
  • Select the Passport Collection Office, choose between options within the country or overseas, and then pick a location.
  • For applicants below 18 years old, enter the Guardian’s IC number.
  • Click on “Carian” (“Search”) to find your current passport record in the database.

3. Upload a Picture

Applicants must upload a passport-sized photo onto the portal, ensuring it meets the specified requirements. Ensure the face is covered by the blue circle and the yellow circle touches the applicant’s cheek.

  • Visit a professional photoshop for a passport photo.
  • Request a softcopy with a file size of 100kb and above.
  • Ensure the photo meets specified requirements:
    • White background without shadows.
    • Dark-coloured clothes covering shoulders and chest.
    • Avoid glasses, coloured contact lenses, and head accessories.

4. Make Online Payment

Payment can be made using a direct credit/debit card (FPX). The payment rates are as follows:

  • Regular Application 13 – 59 years old: RM200
  • Senior Citizens (60 years and above): RM100

An email will confirm that your new passport is ready for collection within three working days.

However, online applications are not permissible for individuals falling under specific categories, including persons with disabilities (OKU), children aged 13 years and below, students continuing their studies, and those planning to perform Hajj. In-person applications at the counter are required for these groups to avail of the exemption and complete the necessary processes.

5. Visit the Online Appointment System (STO) Portal

After finishing all the steps, applicants must schedule an online appointment using the STO link specified in the notification of their MyOnline Passport application status.

If applicants have damaged or missing fingerprints, they need to apply for STO and visit the collection office for fingerprinting. The passport will be processed on the same day.

6. Collect the Passport

When visiting the chosen passport issuing office, applicants must bring the essential documents, including:

  1. Original identification card
  2. Original birth certificate
  3. Original passport
  4. Payment receipt
  5. STO appointment slip

Applicants are required to personally collect their passports by presenting their identification card, current passport, and payment receipt. No representatives are allowed.
