MET Malaysia Warns Continuous Heavy Rains For 6 Days

Based on the analysis of weather models, monsoon rains due to the North East Monsoon (NEM) are expected to occur until 6th March 2023. This situation has the potential to cause continuous rain in the Peninsula as well as in West and central Sarawak.

Accordingly, MET Malaysia has updated the “Amaran Hujan Berterusan” involving the relevant states with effect until 2nd March 2023.

The warning of “Angin Kencang” and “Laut Bergelora” for the waters of the South China Sea has been updated to be effective until 3rd March 2023.

A rise in sea level is expected in the waters of Kelantan, Terengganu, Pahang and East Johor until 3rd March 2023, and there is a risk of seawater overflowing on the coast.
