Total time: 55 mins

  • 1 box chocolate cake mix
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 210g jar marshmallow crème
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt
  • 3/4 cup heavy cream
  • 1 1/2 cup chocolate chips

  1. Prepare cake batter and bake according to the package instructions and let cool.
  2. To make the frosting, in a large bowl combine butter, sugar, marshmallow crème, vanilla extract, and salt and beat until fluffy.
  3. To make the ganache, in a small saucepan, heat heavy cream just until it bubbles. Add chocolate chips. Let stand for 2 minutes, then mix until the chocolate is completely combined.
  4. Time to assemble! Pour ganache over cake. Make spirals using the frosting on top of the ganache then use a toothpick to draw cobwebs.

  • Draw the cobweb from the center to the edge of the cake so it looks more neat. This ensures if the ganache starts to pour, it pours towards the edges, creating a nice aesthetic.
