1. Tong Kee Bakery
It started out as Tong Kee Brothers before becoming what people know as the TK Bakery and several outlets in Malaysia. This place offers both types of egg tarts that use puff pastry to create a flaky crust and another one with a harder shortcrust. Another advantage of this location is that it is a bakery so you can come over and get some other baked goods as well.

2. Tai Zi Ta
Over here, you can get some mini egg tarts if you prefer these smaller sizes. In fact, it’s probably great to have them because you get to stuff yourself with even more egg tarts especially if you’re eating them absent-mindedly. They have a cafe in Kuchai and a bakery in Taman Muda so hurray more options!
You might want to be quick to visit if you’re planning to go there because they would close early if they sell out earlier than expected unless you have decided to call ahead of time to order something.

3. Bunn Choon Restaurant
Bunn Choon Restaurant uses a traditional recipe that has been passed down since 1893 and as the customers come rushing in, they make freshly-baked egg tarts right on time! You can bet that their egg tarts are both delicious and warm enough to feel the sweet egg custard melting in your mouth.
Bonus points if you’re going to eat there because it’s a beautifully decorated building and plentiful dishes to order.

Not only does this place have a few branches that can be accessed by many people but one of their signature baked goods also includes the egg tarts! They serve you with the best of Portuguese egg tarts that are glazed with a caramelized custard, and if that’s not enough for you then you can check out their varieties of cakes.
They have ready-made cakes but also some custom options and sourdough bread.
