As we stepped into the restaurant, its environment had a calming atmosphere with the aesthetically pleasing Japanese restaurant-inspired interior design. Everything from the table decorations to the music made us feel like we were in another country – in a good way!

Premium Wagyu A5 Meat

This yakiniku restaurant takes pride in serving the finest Miyazaki Wagyu A5 meat, directly imported weekly from Miyazaki, serving only the highest-graded A5 Wagyu with a BMS scale of 10 and above.

Gyuden Yakiniku offers 2 different courses, the Shiro Course and the Kyuden Course, providing a sublime culinary experience with its exceptional marbling, tenderness, and juicy flavour, representing the pinnacle of Wagyu beef.

It also has a range of distinct Wagyu cuts, from the sumptuous ribeye, the savoury sirloin, or the tender tenderloin, and each cut contributes its out-of-the-world flavours and textures that we could not get enough of.

Shiro Course 

The Shiro Course offers 5 different Wagyu cuts complemented by grilled vegetables and unlimited sushi rice, allowing us to craft our personalised sushi using preferred Wagyu cuts.

The marbling of the Wagyu pairs perfectly with the sushi rice and nori, creating incredibly delicious flavours that melt in our mouths!

Do not forget to indulge in the delectable Wagyu soup, slow-cooked for 6 to 8 hours to fully accentuate the rich flavours of the Wagyu beef!

PS: If you are a big eater, there is no need to worry about not feeling completely satisfied! The restaurant offers an unlimited supply of sushi rice, ensuring you have all you need to feel full.

Kyuden Course

The Kyuden Course, curated for 2 pax, is an exquisite dining option with 3 Wagyu cuts and 1 steak cut, but this course has a  catch! It also serves tasty selections of scallops, prawns, grilled vegetables and unlimited sushi rice, enhancing the dining experience.

This course is the perfect choice for meat and seafood enthusiasts, as it invites them to savour the best of both worlds in a single, delectable meal.

Wagyu is typically served in smaller portions owing to its richness, which can be a change for those used to larger meat servings. However, Gyuden has done extensive research on Asian appetites to ensure customers can fully immerse themselves in the remarkable Wagyu experience.

Our Personal Favourite

Our personal favourite was the Miyazaki Wagyu A5 Ribeye, a cut known for its incredibly rich flavours that left us craving more. The marbling of this steak was unbelievably flavourful, enhancing its taste and tenderness, making each bite a truly indulgent experience.

This became our top choice because our very first bite was filled with the delightful flavours of this exquisite cut, mirroring the excitement of gliding down a water slide!

Cooking Wagyu to perfection demands precision due to its marbling and tenderness. Overcooking can lead to flavour and texture loss, while undercooking might result in chewy meat.

At Gyuden, the staff, who possess a deep understanding of the diverse Wagyu cuts, expertly demonstrate and assist you in achieving the perfect cooking timing. If you are not in the mood to cook, you can always ask them to cook the meat for you, ensuring a royal-like service.

The restaurant’s staff went the extra mile by providing us with valuable insights on creating the best sauce combinations. With their helpful guidance, we were able to take our Wagyu eating times.

Elevate The Wagyu Taste with Dippings

Three dippings are available, including marinated wasabi, seaweed salt, and yakiniku sauce to help elevate the flavour. As recommended by the owner, a sprinkle of salt is more than enough to enhance the buttery richness of the premium A5 Wagyu beef.

If you are a fan of wasabi, you definitely are in for a treat! Gyuden provides a unique marinated wasabi that’s not too strong, so it will not overshadow the delicious Miyazaki Wagyu. You can even make your own sushi using this special wasabi, creating a perfect balance of flavours between the wasabi and the Wagyu.

Halal Wagyu Meat

Gyuden Yakiniku sources its A5 Wagyu meat imported fresh, and weekly exclusively from the NPO Japan Halal Association, so there is no need to worry about the quality and authenticity. It also does not use any alcohol in its food preparation, providing an inclusive and respectful dining environment of various dietary restrictions and choices.

Aside from the Courses, we have tried other dishes available only for lunch, so let’s dive into our experience and opinion!

Who says you cannot have a burger at a yakiniku restaurant? The Ugly Mooger is for people who want to relish Japanese and Western cuisine. With its tender Wagyu patty nestled in soft buns, it is a symphony of tastes that breaks all the rules in the most delicious way.

The Ugly Mooger

Wondering why this burger has the word “ugly” in it? It is because, at first glance, the burger might appear similar to the typical burgers you can find at local street markets. However, like people, we should always appreciate inner qualities like this burger. While it might receive an outlook rating of 4 to 5 marks, the taste it delivered was an experience that goes well beyond 100%. We could not describe it in words – you must try it yourself!

Wagyu Carpaccio 

The Wagyu Carpaccio is another dish that caught our hearts with its melt-in-the-mouth texture. Each component in this dish matches exquisitely, making every bite an outright bliss to our palate.

Wagyu Cheese Hamburg Don, the breaded and fried minced Wagyu stuffed with cheese, was something new. Even so, we could not stop indulging in the flavoursome combination of meaty Wagyu and gooey cheese.

Kimchee Wagyu Don is also another tempting option. It consists of stir-fried Wagyu slices paired with freshly prepared daily kimchi, providing a satisfying crunch that is simply tasty!
