Crisp, tender and amazingly delicious, the #baklava is an explosion of flavour! A dessert from Turkey, one piece will never be enough. (put on some Turkish music while making the baklava, it will taste better hehe)

Ingredients
Baklava
- 1 pkt Filo Pastry
- 150 g Almond
- 150 g Pistachio
- 150 g Pecan
- 60 g
Brown Sugar - ¼ tbsp
A stick Cinnamon - ¼ tbsp
Cloves - 250 g
Butter Melted - 1 pkt Vermicelli (optional)
Sugar Syrup
- 200 g
Brown Sugar - 100 g Water
- 180 g Rose Water
- 140 g
Honey - 30 g Lemon Strip
- 1 nos
A stick Cinnamon
Instructions
Baklava
- In a pot heat water until boiling and add vermicelli.
- Turn off the heat and let it soften. Once soft toss and set aside.
- In a blender, add all ingredient except filo pastry and blend it until it become like a sand like texture
- Prepare the filo pastry and brush it with melted butter for each layer
- When on the fourth layer add the nuts mixture
- Roll it tightly and cut it into 2 inch pieces.
- Wrap the vermicelli on the baklava pieces as shown on the video
- Repeat until all baklava are wrapped with the vermicelli.
- Brush it with melted butter
- Bake in 180 c oven until golden brown. Let cool
Sugar Syrup
- Add all ingredient in one pot
- And let it simmer for a couple of minutes
- Let it cool for about 1 hour or more for the cinnamon and lemon to infuse the flavour. The longer the better.
Assemble
- Put the baklava in a container. Preferably a 7 inch baking pan. Arrange them nice and tightly
- Pour the syrup and let the syrup soaked by the baklava for 2-4 hours
- Serve.
