Tempeh is a Javanese food made from fermented soybeans and some people like to eat it with sambal or with their ayam penyet dishes. It’s rich in nutrients and protein so it does become a popular choice for a vegetarian diet.
If you have eaten tempeh before, you might have noticed that some tempeh are not as crispy as you’d like it to be, so here’s a tip for those who would like to fry tempeh at home.
Things you need:
- Bowl
- Water
- A pinch of salt
- Turmeric powder
- Tempeh
How to do it:
- Soak the tempeh in a bowl of water, salt and turmeric powder. Don’t use too much salt because a pinch of salt is enough to increase the taste of fat content in it.

2. Afterwards, let it soak for about 30 minutes or an hour.
3. Then, proceed to fry it as usual.

It’s just that easy! We hope you will try it at home and if you have any other wonderful tips to share, do let us know!
