Christmas Stollen Bread Recipe

Can you hear the bells ringing? Christmas is near! Celebrate the holidays by making some Christmas Stollen Bread for you and your family. It is packed with raisins and Golden Sultanas for a fruity flavor accompanied by almonds, hazelnuts and pistachios to give a crunch! Your loved ones are about to get their heart ‘stolen’ after tasting a piece of the Stollen Bread.

Christmas Stollen Bread Recipe

Cook Time 4 hours 30 minutes
Total Time 4 hours 50 minutes

Ingredients

Bread Dough

  • ½ cup Golden Sultanas
  • ½ cup Raisin
  • 3 tbsp Orange juice
  • 4 cup Flour
  • 1 tbsp Yeast
  • 1 cup Milk
  • ½ cup Honey
  • 1 nos Egg
  • ½ cup Butter
  • 1 tbsp Lemon zest
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • ½ tsp Ground clove
  • ½ tsp Cinnamon
  • ½ tsp Cardamom
  • ½ cup Almond
  • ½ cup Pistachios
  • ½ cup Hazelnut

Fillings

  • 2 tbsp Unsalted Butter
  • 2 tsp Cinnamon
  • 3 tbsp Brown Sugar

Instructions

  • In a bowl combine sultanas, raisin and orange juice and let it soak for a while.

  • In another bowl combine 1 cup of flour, yeast, water, milk, honey and stir.

  • Let it rise for one hour.
  • Once risin, add the remaining ingredient and knead it in a standing mixer until it forming a ball.

  • Let it rest for 2 hours.

  • Once rest punch the dough and divide into 2 equal pieces.

  • Roll out the dough into an oval/ round shape and add the fillings.

  • For the fillings just combine all of the ingredient.
  • Spread the filling onto the dough and fold it.

  • Let it proof for 45 minutes.

  • Bake in 180°c oven for 45 minutes.

  • Once cool dust heavily with icing sugar.
